Meet the team

Director – Bill Murray

I’m a communications professional with a background in journalism, publishing, and public relations, specialising in the transport and travel sectors. After graduating from the University of Brighton with a degree in journalism, I began my career in publishing before moving into PR, where I’ve built a reputation for strategic thinking, creativity, and reliable delivery across a wide range of projects.

Having been based in Sussex for over three decades, I’ve worked extensively on staging international conferences, large-scale events, and high-profile campaigns, often combining complex logistics with clear storytelling. My experience covers crisis management, media relations, and marketing consultancy, always with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes for clients and partners. I’m a strong advocate for sustainable transport and the transition to electric vehicles, and I’ve led initiatives promoting cleaner, greener travel with organisations at both local and international levels. My passion for sustainability runs through much of my work, from advising on strategic campaigns to developing events that connect communities, businesses, and policymakers.

Director – Harrison Hughes

I’ve always had a passion for sustainability and technology, which naturally grew into a love for electric vehicles. I bought my first EV when I was just 16 and have only driven electric since. That early interest shaped my career path, starting out at Octopus Electric Vehicles as a marketing intern before moving up to marketing specialist. From there, I worked with The Big Lemon, one of Brighton’s first electric bus companies, where I helped coordinate operations and engage with the public on the future of cleaner transport.

In 2020, I co-founded Current PR, a sustainable marketing and PR agency, before bringing all my work together under Electra Connect. Today, I run some of the UK’s biggest and most exciting EV events, including the London to Brighton Electric Vehicle Rally, the Powered Up conference, and local Charge & Drive community events. For me, it’s all about creating opportunities for people to experience electric mobility first-hand, connecting businesses, local authorities, and the public. My goal has always been simple: to make sustainable transport more accessible, more engaging, and part of everyday life.
